Mikey’s Kitchen sits quietly along Broseley’s high street, offering a true neighbourhood cafe experience that blends well with the town’s relaxed pace. It’s the kind of spot where locals and visitors alike find a welcoming space to enjoy freshly prepared meals any time from breakfast through early dinner. The vibe here leans family-run and personal, with Mikey and the team often going out of their way to accommodate unique requests — whether that’s fitting in an early bird meal or looking after little ones.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and warm, making it easy to settle in for a casual catch-up over coffee or a simple bite after exploring the nearby historic attractions. The coffee is thoughtfully made, showing attention in every cup, and a sense of genuine care extends to their baked treats, with indications that a well-made Victoria sponge is a highlight for many. Prices are reasonable, reflecting the straightforward, homey approach rather than anything fancy, which matches the easy-going tone of the place.

Visitors tend to drop in for breakfast or lunch, but the option for an early dinner also helps fill a local niche, especially after a day spent around Broseley’s sights. Families will appreciate the relaxed environment — staff are friendly and inclusive, often engaging with children and creating a comfortable setting to eat. If time allows, a mid-morning visit on a weekday or an early afternoon during weekends might be best to catch the welcoming bustle without feeling rushed.

In sum, Mikey’s Kitchen works well as a dependable go-to cafe in a small town, appreciated for its simple, freshly cooked food, genuine hospitality, and a no-frills setting that feels like a neighbour’s kitchen table.

We wanted to make sure that Mikey could fit us in, so I called and booked a table. It was reserved for us when we got there. It was lunchtime but Mikey went out of his way and did a breakfast. The food was freshly cooked and the service was brilliant. Mikey thank you so much. We will definitely be back

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Wonderful atmosphere, a real family run vibe Very friendly and even held my baby whilst we ate our food, and she was very happy to be sat on who I assume was mikey! Lovely food and good prices If we lived here we would return but sadly we are many hours away!

We enjoyed 'early dinner' here after we had visited the local historic attractions. The veggie lasagne hit the spot and the toddler enjoyed the jacket potato. Friendly atmosphere. Glad someone was open for early dinner!

This review is one that has been a long time coming since my visit to Broseley. Since the moment I stepped foot on my first day to the day I left the owners and staff have been lovely and warm welcoming, even allowing me in a bit earlier on my last day! They make a wonderful cup of coffee and (hint hint) by far the best Victoria sponge I've tasted in a very long time. It is sinfully healthy to go there even as a one of with very reasonable food prices. They truly do make the effort and are always absorbing their customers feedback. Mikeys is a home away from home that set us up for the day ahead. Now I'm home I sorely miss it, I look forward to visiting it again!

Came in for a quick coffee and was really surprised by the welcoming atmosphere. Mikey chats with everyone who comes in and takes great care with all the drinks and food. Definitely coming back :)
